What if my insurance company won’t warranty auto body work in Tucson?

When you have any collision repair work done, it’s natural to have lots of questions.  For many of our customers, their questions are often about their insurance and what it will cover.  If you’ve landed on our page, your question might be about whether your auto insurance company will provide a warranty on any work you have done at a body shop here in the Tucson or Green Valley area.

In short, the answer is no, your insurance company will not provide a warranty on any auto body work.  It is the responsibility of the auto repair shop to offer you a warranty on the work they perform.

What if I take my car to my auto insurance company’s preferred shop?
Even if you take your car to the auto body shop your insurance company prefers, the insurance company still won’t provide a warranty.  The real benefit of choosing the preferred shop goes to your insurance company and the chosen shop, because they are in collaboration over rates.  Something you might not realize is that you are free to select any body shop you want to perform the work you need.  You don’t even have to get the three estimates your insurance company recommends if you’re not interested in doing so.  One estimate for body work is all you will need.

So the best thing you can do is pick the right auto body shop for your needs.
You might be wondering: with so many body shops out there, how do I know which shop is reliable?   Here are four major qualities that you should look for in a body shop:

  • Accreditation with the Better Business Bureau.  Businesses that are accredited by the Bureau have pledged to be held accountable for their business practices and to follow a code of ethics.  O’Rielly Collision Center has received an A+ rating, the highest rating you can get.
  • Longevity.  A shop that has been around for a long time is likely to be more reliable.  O’Rielly was established in 1929.
  • Warranty.  Yep, we also provide a lifetime warranty on our work here at O’Rielly Collision Center.  If a body shop advertises that, then it places high standards on its work.  Don’t take a chance with bringing your car to a shop that won’t provide a warranty, because it could cost you a lot of extra money in the long run should something go wrong.
  • Certification.  Did you know that you’re not required to have certifications or a license to do body work?  GM certification is like having Ivy League body men service your car, regardless of the make and model.  And of course our technicians are GM-certified!

Whether you bring your vehicle to O’Rielly Collision Center for repair or to another auto body shop in Tucson or Green Valley, the number one priority for any body shop should be your safety.  We promise to provide you with a repair that you can trust and we offer a lifetime warranty on everything we do to back that promise!
